Influences
A career at sea helped formulate his style of art. This was further enhanced by 17 years in command of New Zealand’s ‘Tall Ships through the Spirit of Adventure Trust. Living and working in West Africa and Iran over an eight year period also moulded his style and influences. This is demonstrated in his wildlife paintings.

His strong interest in aviation (being a pilot himself) has resulted in a series of WWII aerial war combat paintings following much research. New Zealand’s past aviation also features prominently in his work.
